We take our name from the Covent Garden area of London where our first café is based.
- The Abbey or Convent of St. Peter, Westminster, maintained a large kitchen garden throughout the Middle Ages to provide its daily food. Over the next three centuries, the monks' old "convent garden" became a major source of fruit and vegetables in London.
- In the 1630's the Earl of Bedford built the Covent Garden piazza as first public square in the country.
- Covent Garden became the main fruit and vegetable market for London after the Great Fire of London in 1666.
- Nowadays GARDEN provides the finest, freshest fruit and vegetables to Londoners. Bringing the quality of a farmers market to our smoothies, sandwiches and coffees.
Garden is run by brother and sister Koray Isilar and Marsha Isilar-Gosling and Marsha's husband Tony Gosling. Good food has long been their passion and Marsha works long hours creating great food fresh in the kitchen. She is the chef behind the menu of fantastic sandwiches and salads and cooks the fresh soups in the shop herself every day.
